Printfil 5.9: EMail print jobs via SMTP. Search and highlight text in preview.

Dear Client,

we're pleased to announce the new Printfil 5.9 release.

What's new:

• Now you can send mail even by using a SMTP server directly, without having any e-mail client installed on the PC; either by showing the e-mail to the user before sending it, or without user intervention.
• Some Outlook versions could crash Printfil if an e-mail message was triggered while Outlook was closed. In that case now Outlook is automatically opened before generating the e-mail message.
• In the Preview window a new icon has been added to search and highlight a text. It generates a new job with that text highlighted with the colors you've selected, then you can choose to print this one, or the original job (or both).
  
• In addition to the text color, now you can even change the background color, by the Color_Start and Color_end escape sequences.
  
• If the "choose" (printer) option is enabled and you've specified a printer in the optional CFG file, the standard "choose printer" Windows dialog will default to that printer instead of the last used one.
• If the "choose" (printer) option was enabled when printing in RAW mode, and the "cancel" button was clicked in the "choose printer" Windows dialog, the job previously was printed however, to the default printer.
• The locally installed manual is now opened in a Printfil's window instead of inside the default web browser. This makes browsing and printing it faster, especially for inexperienced users.
• Many common misconfigurations are automatically detected and, instead of showing just a simple error message, Printfil asks to connect to the online troubleshooting tool to obtain more help.
• Some other minor improvements.

The upgrade is free for all the Customers who are using the 5.x version, by using the same license codes. You just need to download and install the new Printfil setup program (or leave the AutoUpdate program doing it automatically)

If you are still using an old 4.3 version, purchased since 7 Nov 2005 (date of its release), you've right to the free upgrade too, but even your license codes needs to be upgraded (Printfil 5 uses different codes than Printfil 4). The AutoUpdate program will guide you through the update process and will automatically update everything that is needed. If the automatic check has been disabled, simply right-click the Printfil's trayed icon and choose "Search for updates".

If you've purchased previous 4.x licenses from 2003 to 2005, for a limited time only, you can still upgrade them to the newest version simply by purchasing Printfil Upgrade licenses at discounted prices. Don't miss this opportunity! it will expire soon!
